Punta Oy strengthens its position in Sweden by signing a cooperation agreement with Sonesson Inredningar

Punta Oy, producer of parcel delivery, locking and storage solutions and related systems, has signed a cooperation agreement with Sonesson Inredningar, part of the Norwegian Sono Group. With this cooperation, Punta strengthens its position as a comprehensive system supplier of smart locker solutions in Sweden.

With the cooperation agreement, Punta will supply Sonesson with complete luggage lockers, Click & Collect lockers, and smart locking systems. Punta manufactures the automated locker solutions at its own factory in Kisko, Finland.

Punta’s automated lockers can be integrated seamlessly into the available space. They provide versatile options for safe, efficient, and contactless storage and distribution. As part of the cooperation, Punta’s safe and easy-to-use comprehensive software solutions will be integrated into Sonesson Inredningar’s storage furniture.

The products manufactured jointly by Punta and Sonesson will be sold in Sweden under the name Sonesson Inredningar by Punta.

In 2023, Punta Group’s net sales were EUR 14.4 million. At the end of the year, the company launched a production line expansion project at its Kisko factory, which is scheduled to be completed in June 2024. With the expansion, the company can increase its capacity and enhance its operations.

During 2023, Punta strengthened its sales organization, production line, and software expertise by recruiting several new employees. The company’s headquarters and factory are located in Kisko, Finland, and some of the personnel work in Helsinki. At the end of 2023, Punta Oy employed over 100 people in total.

Punta Group:n vuoden 2023 liikevaihto oli 14,4 miljoonaa euroa. Vuoden lopussa yhtiö käynnisti Kiskon tehtaallaan tuotantolinjaston laajennushankkeen, jonka on tarkoitus valmistua kesäkuussa 2024. Laajennuksen myötä yhtiö pystyy kasvattamaan kapasiteettiaan ja tehostamaan toimintaansa.

We saw an increase in demand, especially in automated storage and distribution solutions utilizing artificial intelligence, in areas such as logistics, retail and health care, as well as industrial services,” Pekka Leppälä sums up.
