The 24/7 gas cylinder vending machine that needs no staff
Once a gas cylinder vending machine is on the ground, a second cost decides whether it pays off: staffing it. A manned point sells only while someone is there to serve it, and even then the customer waits while that person finds the cylinder, carries it out, and handles the payment. Outside opening hours the demand does not disappear. It just goes unmet.

How unstaffed operation works
Punta Gas handles the full transaction on its own: purchase, exchange, and return of empty cylinders. There is no attendant, and no one to wait for. The customer collects the cylinder directly from the machine in under a minute. Pickup works in more than one way. A PIN code sent by SMS is one option, and an app is available for operators who want it.
The point sells around the clock, including the hours when a station is closed or a shop is shut. No member of staff has to stop what they are doing to serve a cylinder, and no customer waits in line for one. The retail hours are set by demand, not by a shift roster.
Selling after closing time
Unstaffed operation matters most where staffed hours are short: forecourts that close in the evening, rural points served by one person, and locations where a manned cylinder cage is only open part of the day. In each case the machine keeps selling when the staff goes home, and serves the customer faster while they are still there.
